Anyone remember this?
>>281869139All I remember is it going to shit after going to the new aquarium
>>281869205Yeah I remember not liking how one of the main girl got stuck in a soulless job working overtime all the time. It reminded me of my own job.
>>281869139Fuuka was pretty great
>is never explained
>>281870007What's there to explain? It was a guardian spirit which protected the yuri.
>>281870007I guess Japanese audiences must be familiar enough with kijimuna that it didn't need one
Were their heads always that...stretched out vertically?
>>281869139Could've atleast picked a more flattering image.
>>281869139Only Fuuka's beautiful blue nails
>>281870993sorry I just used google image search because I'm lazy..
>>281869205Yup, they jumped the whale shark in the second half.
Fuuka is a miracle of the universe.
The second half was so bad PA Works hasn't done a two cours original since
unironically this is the best thing to come out of aquatopehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qx4sZK2yclI
>>281872310Even the manga version only adapted the first cour. They knew the 2nd half was a mistake.
Fuuka is my wife
>>281874065Welcome to the thread, Kukuru
I watched it for the first time recently as I like the concept of aquarium showsI enjoyed it thoroughlyI think the second half was weaker than the first, but I think it's blown way out of proportion when people say it's shit or absolutely terrible. There are still really great emotional scenes, like the T U R T L E S and the wedding ceremony. We also got dolphuuka (dorkfuuka). I understand that people didn't like the shift in setting and tone because the little aquarium in the hometown was more cosy and fun, but it was bound to end someday and the show made it very clear that it's no longer in a state where the aminals can be safe there. It was time for Kukuru to grow up and I think it was handled well. The show was also very clearly telegraphing that she was being GROOMED to eventually be the director of the entire aquarium, which is why she was placed in marketing or whatever, as she would eventually have to work her way through every job so she could understand every part of the aquarium so she could be an effective director. This is a very KINO practice. I haven't seen that many Penis Ass Works shows, only ones I can recall seeing are this, miuna's show and hibimeshi (hibimeshi was a masterpiece, but that was due to the NNB creative leads). I atleast respect that they try to make originals and try to do something drastic in them. I was not expecting the time skip in miuna's show, for example, and while I have my gripes with that one, too, I think it was overall a good decision, just like closing down the small aquarium and doing the second half in the big one. It's refreshing to see some actual stakes and consequences in shows that are otherwise SoLAnywaysI want to have sex with Fuuuuka and Kuukuuruu at the same timeAnyone else feel like this?
>>281875054I remember liking the second half because it felt like an honest or accurate representation of the workplace, which I hadn't really seen in media.
>>281869139Rather fondly. then somewhat negatively. Resulting in a somewhat fond overall remembrance.
Don't forget ED1, I think it was really good.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24zUBmo6bso
>>281870920It's not like there's a lot to explain to other viewers. the idea of a magical leprechaun watching over them is pretty self explanatory. Even if you don't get the fully mythological impact its not complicated.
>>281875361Yeah, it has that NagiAsu mystical vibe
>>281875122It's not that I didn't understand that part and even empathize with it to a good degree. but as a story I just don't understand what they were trying to do. Well that's not true, not entirely. I got it. Boss was trying to each Kukuru through tough teaching but it never really felt like that and it never paid out that way. The entire new aquarium staff from the management down were almost comically uncooperative. >We didn't read out emails so that's your fault.>We blocked an active hallway WHY ARE YOU MOVING OUR FIRE HAZARD!? And all the bullshit with the single mom was just dreadful. Frankly I liked it better when we thought she was getting pissed off at everyone being nepo babies. But she was the one making things hard for herself and taking it out on everyone else. And why was Kai even still around? They didn't finish his plot or the guy with woman issues either.
>>281875122>>281875054I agree that Kukuru's arc in cour 2 was a gppd, satisfying story of somebody growing up and accepting their role as a working adult, like you hardly ever see in anime. My problem was that the cour is mostly focused on Kukuru's struggled while also introducing new characters and new people's drama (eg, the single MILF) that the other characters from cour 1 feel pushed to the wayside. This is especially true for Fuuka, whose angst about the idol business is only relevant in one epsiode.and who feels like a supporting character at best instead of a dual lead.
>>281875922Hmm, good point.
>>281869139i never watched s2
>>281877100It's not it's offensively bad or anything it's just.... well boring really. dull. Pointless even.
>>281869139Why would anyone remember a yuri-bait hetflop?
>>281875054>The show was also very clearly telegraphing that she was being GROOMED to eventually be the director of the entire aquarium, which is why she was placed in marketing or whatever, as she would eventually have to work her way through every job so she could understand every part of the aquarium so she could be an effective directorShame about the burnout though.Kukuru and Fuuka should have stayed on Turtle Island.
>>281878096The show didn't have yuribait at all, though? They made it clear from the very beginning that the girls were like sisters. You would have to be very delusional to be baited by literally nothing.
The show peaked in the first part when it was about Fuuka trying to find herself again after getting her idol dream crushed. For a show about aquariums, she offered a unique perspective as someone who was totally unfamiliar with aquariums and sea life and whose new goal is centered around them. She's the best character of the two leads.Kukuru's drama isn't just as interesting, drags on for longer, and sidelined everything else, which made the second half a chore to watch.
Any shows that take the fuuka angle but better?
>>281869139I remember how much wasted potential this was
>>281879886Yeah, they should have fucked. Their sexual tension was so thick everyone around them wanted them to get it over with
>>281880638
Kai will win in the movie.
>>281878295>They made it clear from the very beginning that the girls were like sisters.Every single viewer of the show (who wasn't wearing het goggles) saw that their relationship with each other was very yuri-coded. You can go back into the archives if you don't believe.
Udon sex
>>281877100>S2Did I miss something or did I erase the memory? Can someone give a quick recap?
