Thanks OP.Honestly, after rereading Oden's flashback in the daily threads, he himself is a fine character. I think the issue is the sheer quantity of glazing he gets before he's even shown doing anything.The naked dance is somewhat silly, but it could've been alleviated easily by some dialogue about Orochi/Kaido reneging on the deal if he told anyone else or left the country to get help, though the latter was almost certainly not an option given he probably did not have a vivre card for Whitebeard. But that's also just an issue with this arc is important stuff just happens off screen with no answer as to why.

Kaido is a really lame villain, the worst in OP so far.He's been hyped up for so long but he's such a non-character.He's just there, being a big bad guy with a big club beating up people.The whole SMILE plotline turned into nothing, Kaido could have formed an army any other conventional way. Contrivance and cheap drama for the sake of it.In this arc he's just a side character to the real villain Kurozumi.What exactly are his goals?What are his motivations?Why did he settle down in Wano of all places?Must be hiding from something, what?He's gathering an army of semi-super soldiers, for what?Why do his men stick around for 20 years doing fuck all?Who even is his crew? Other than more non-characters who are just there on the page. Yeah I'm sure all will be explained in the last chapter before his defeat in a flashback but I'm way past caring about his backstory.
