Is Moe/SoL anime (for a lack of a better term) even good? Because I seriously can't see the point. It's not funny like a comedy, not calming like a healing-type anime, not ecchi like an harem or cool like an shonen.It's just "there".

Plus stuff that most people probably wouldn't consider cgdct but has plenty of the same stuff in it. People always misjudge what the "first" of something is. It's hard to accept you saying it's a novelty in the late 00s when you could probably point to at least a dozen series between 2000 and 2010 that fit the mold to some extent. And that's ignoring things prior to that that you could likely argue are much the same thing. And normalfags only being introduced to it in 2009 with K-ON doesn't count as something being a novelty.
