Why didn't Kaneki ever ask himself why there weren't any groups out there fighting for the rights of ghouls and their integration into human society? Why didn't he ever ask himself why the government was spending so much money on researching military grade weapons just to fight ghouls instead of developing a form of synthetic food for ghouls that would solve the major problem they have which is their need to eat humans?
>Pay attention, there was a big conspiracy behind the scenes, the CCG was a farse and just a way to perpetuate the power and influence of the Washu family which are also ghouls. And the synthetic food was created in the end.
Ok, sure, but I'm not questioning that, I'm questioning why the author never addressed those points before the big revelation that it was all a big conspiracy? A smart author would realize an attentive reader would ask those question and he would address them in the beginning which would also serve as foreshadow for the big reveal that there was a big conspiracy going on and that's why support for ghouls was being supressed, but here there's nothing, only at the end he addresses those things and they're used just as a plot conveniency to bring humans and ghouls together and justify their peaceful coexistence. This manga is frustrating as fuck, I tried really hard to like it, but there are so many stupidities in every arc that it's hard to say it's anything other than mediocre.

For the anon that said he would storytime the series, i am waiting

There's also not even a single explanation as to the situation of ghouls in other countries. They mention once or twice that there's a CCG-like institution in Germany, but we aren't told a single thing about the life or rights of ghouls in Germany.

Some plot points that are foreshadowed (Yoshimura being alive by the end of part one, Shirazu's body being stolen) are outright just dropped. Amon's parallel with Kaneki in part one is also dropped and he becomes a weakling that's even more useless than Takizawa.

Kano's reveal about why he destroyed the lives of thousands of people and almost an entire city just to teach people a lesson that ghoul physiology should be researched and medicine advanced is comically retarded. And don't even get me started on the final arc. There were like 4 talk no jutsu in the end. I'm not joking, the protagonists suddenly start analysing themselves psychologically out loud in the middle of the battle, start lecturing the villain on some of the simplest concepts of life such as "killing is wrong", "I love my father", "My friends love me", then the villain realizes the errors of his ways, this same pattern repeated for 4 fucking times in the last arc.

If the ending wasn't so bad I would probably recommend the manga to you, sure it would still have a lot of problems in my opinion, but I would still say it's fun and decent. But the final arc is so fucking bad that it exacerbates all those small problems in the previous arcs and turns a somewhat fun manga into a generic battle shonen. If you're expecting anything more than that then just don't bother. Another thing that's really frustrating are the constant allusion the author makes to characters's deaths just for them to be saved magically by the protagonist or someone else at the last second, this is repeating so much from the very beginning to the very ending.

Bump because I wanna talk about this manga with someone, did no one here read it?

It wasn't well thought out, its like asking how the city functioned when there hundreds to thousands of ghouls eating at least one person every month month. It started out having ghouls generally give a serial killer/monsterous vibe, even Touka and Yomo admitted to murdering for reasons other than it being necessary iirc. Having advocacy for them early on would be defending mass murders that average law enforcement had no chance against.

It was fine

The first half was fucking great but goddamn does RE just utterly shit on the original. I'm amazed how good Choujin X is though like night and day from Tokyo Ghoul

>Amon's parallel with Kaneki in part one is also dropped and he becomes a weakling that's even more useless than Takizawa.
This shit is the most frustrating for me. I was expecting a story about two dudes on opposite sides of a war realizing their side is bullshit and forcing a change independent yet intertwined with each other. Instead I got all the worst parts of True Blood and X-men's metaphors on minorities

>it exacerbates all those small problems
I'd argue the entire second half exacerbates those problems. Kaneki's entire idea of Ghoul liberation is retarded. We've spent the last two series watching how 99% of Ghoul "society" is made up of psychopaths that aren't just eating people to survive but actively torturing people and engaging in acts of cruelty and sadism for shits and giggles. Hell one of his staunchest allies is introduced ripping a woman's eyes out JUST to eat them and only eat her eyes. His GF who's supposed to be one of the "moral" ghouls is not only willingly teaming up with a sex murderer ghoul but has absolutely NO QUALMS with his extracurricular activities. And then at the end Ishida has the balls to have them lecture the Ghoul Hunters on how bad they are for hunting Ghouls. Fun fact Tougen Anki is like the mirror opposite of Tokyo Ghoul where all hunters are absolute fucking soulless psychos to the point where it ruins the series

In retrospect it was funny when we thought the amnesia and new characters was when the author dropped the ball. Then it started being a constant stream of retcons and the protagonist became the center of the universe.

there's nothing to talk about, it had a good start and then turned into trash in the second part

>why there weren't any groups out there fighting for the rights of ghouls and their integration into human society
Eh, ghouls are just cannibal serial killers with superpowers in the eyes of the public. It makes perfect sense that no one would want to be associated with advocating for their rights

But we’ve seen that some of them liked and had human friends, I imagine those people would maybe try to fight for the good ghouls to be accepted into society.
