Aizen is a textbook example of a smart character written by a dumb person. Because the author doesn’t know what it’s like being high-IQ he can only substitute with magical thinking and aura. Aizen stands around with a hooded smile projecting an image of being in control but it’s literally just an image, his own author doesn’t even know how everything will play out.

He has tremendous reiatsu that is enough to maintain multiple near-perfect-but-not-flawless illusions with multiple enemies in multiple areas. On top of that, KS affects anyone with vision meaning it's a VISUAL power and not one necessarily based on reiatsu level which means that it's dependent on Aizen's imagination in creating life-like illusions while his reiatsu levels make it so that he can always maintain multiple illusions at once. Then there's the fact that during his fight with Yama, KS wouldn't have mattered anyway because Yama was going to do a controlled nuke explosion inside FKT with EJ to ensure that Aizen couldn't get away w/ illusions. And again, YAMA HAD HIM IN CHECKMATE UNTIL AIZEN HAD WONDERWEISS SHOW UP AND AIZEN HAD TO USE PLAN "FUCK YAMA ZANPAKUTO"
