It wasn't the adaptation that fans deserved, but it was the adaptation that the manga deserved. WIT has impeccable pullout game, they bailed at the perfect moment. Of course it was just production schedule conflicts, but I like to think they got word of where the manga was going when they were considering picking it back up.
