I was actually considering it dropping it myself around episode 5 or 6 but I stuck with it and I think it's worth a watch to the end. It is very slow burn in the beginning and very much SOL with some mystery. It gets much better halfway through, like around episode 12 like someone else said. There will be payoff for the slower first half, trust me. The OST is also amazing. Overall, I give it like an 8/10. It's memorable story with decent characters with a great OST, but the slowness in the first half leaves a bit to desired and understandably turns away people.

Watching it a long time ago, unspoiled, with it being pretty different was entertaining and enjoyable. It's probably just the type of show that doesn't mesh with everyone. But when it does, it's quite good.
