It came out months apart from Madoka so it didn't exactly copy it but does pale in its shadow.2nd arc is a figurative "restart". Another death game but it starts setting up the world and ends in a way that builds directly to sequels. The antagonist is the suckiest of them all though. Fuck Keek.3rd arc onward is basically mahou shoujo Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Each arc has a varied premise, some strong characters I still think about all these years later, very cool powers used creatively, and background conspiracies tying it all together. But you gotta get used to 80% of the cast dying every time. MGRP definitely carves out its own identity but it took a little bit. I don't have faith this anime will lead to a 3rd season but if it did that's where it would really hit its stride. It would still have a devoted fanbase here if it weren't for the translator drama. We all reconvene a couple times a year to mourn.

I stopped reading maybe in 2018-19 after I finished Queens and didnt even know this was being adapted so seeing this PV was a huge shock and activated some dusty memories in my head. Cant wait to see the crazy fights animated and I hope they push it to Limited. I miss my wife Mana.
