With a title likeTsuihousareru Tabi ni Skill wo Te ni Ireta Ore ga, 100 no Isekai de 2-shuume MusouYou'd expect it to be forgetable bad literature and yet...Why is this isekaislop so good? It might even be the best out there. I find myself rooting for the next chapter. The premise is stupid, it's deeply flawed, the whole "skill" thing is wholly unnecessary and yet here I am reading it with awe asking for more. It's a very good fantasy story. It should be crap yet it's gold, very confusing. The world building is pretty neat, the characters are well-written, the conflicts are engaging, it manages to be emotionally deep. The art is somewhat standard yet never boring.I can't find it any flaw beyond it being a isekai with an unnecessary long title and having the word "skill" in it.It's a shame this is enough for it to never receive the attention it surprisingly rightfully deserves.
>>281910488>everytime I was exiledhis(?) whole build revolves around getting kicked from the party?
>>281910498Give it a read. That bit really only serves to justify him being overpowered, having all the intel and introducing emotional trauma. You could remove the skill thing and just have him grow stronger and more skilled from experience the story would only improve I'd say.
Better than Frieren?
>i get more OP the more shoelaces i don't tie
>>281910628Frieren is overrated, this is underrated
>he merely pretends to get exiled on purposekek, that avoids the typical self-serving nature of those, so far at least
>>281910861Story takes a bit of time before going back to that premise of exploring 100 worlds redoing everything right
>>281910488It's okay, nothing more. Stands out from the usual trash.
>>281910488It was great for slop until the garbage furshit arc. I honestly recommend stopping after the first arc which has a decent conclusion you can pretend is the end.
>>281912312I like the fur arc...
>>281910498Yeah, at glance it's the classic "stupid gimmick combined with buzzwords to feed the algorithm".But back then I also gave it a chance purely to check up on the elf character. And man did I find. Not what the staying power of it will be, but the intro arc is kino. Chapter 1-8 or so. I don't think I saw something so compelling and actually good as a story in what is advertised as isekaislop.
Is there anything about this manga which makes it anything more than absolutely bog standard isekai slop?
>>281914084>situation>that flower she stitched for him earlier, in the viewMan, that was harsh reading back then
>>281914084Err, I meant to type:>Not sure what the staying power of it will be, but the intro arc is kino.
>>281910488I prefer it if the everyone wants to rape the elf but elf wants to only rape MC. Don't care for anything else
(Sorry, I had to delete and repost due to the amount of mistakes I did. Hopefully not getting a stroke or soemthing.)It has those usual tropes of being really powerful, but doesn't really do the worst slop things that most slop does. Its first arc I'd say is exceptional for isekai. Actual story, actual idea (And by that I do not mean the kicked-out gimmick/muh skillz thing). After that it moves into some sort of series of arcs formula that is more akin to the usual isekai doing isekai things manner of stories. But at least it's not too egregious with all the power flexing and stuff, the author keeps stuff in check so it can kinda stand on its own legs outside of the genre.I wonder how long the series can go on like that without getting stale because obviously those 100 world arcs are a bit too much. There seems to be some grander underlying story/mystery behind the scheme so maybe that takes over instead. In any case, if you are already reading isekaislop, this is one of the few better written ones, IMHO.
>>281910488It's the best shoelacerslop out there for sure and one big part for it is that it doesn't use choleric characters like the median story does
>>281910488>that exile scene in the revisited first loop Shoelace stories have no business being this good.>>281912312I think fur arc has potential, the issue is that we're still in the buildup stage, plus the slow monthly release schedule.
>>281914634Or really any of the sholeacer subgenre revenge fantasies-based over the top cliches.
I LOVE ALEXISTOTAL ALEXIS LOVE
I wish she sat on me anons
>>281914727I've seen how good the execution of the first arc was, but I'm not convinced. I'm sure it will get better but nothing is going to get me invested in furries.Everything about this setup feels like a reset or a sidestory, not a continuation (not yet anyway). Feels particularly bad after such a good climax. I also really don't care about this doglet "hero".
>>281912312There's a couple of mini arcs after every major arc like the first one. It's been awhile since I read the WN but I think it's going to take awhile before the next major arc.
Did anyone read the full WN for this? I was reading it, but I heard that there wasn't actually a lot of romance beyond subtext in the end, so I stopped.
>>281915026Yes, their relationship remains platonic till the very end. Author keeps teasing readers but have never pushes their relationship beyond best friends.
>>281912312>furshit arcBut at least they aren't too "anthro"-->the sister character appearsuh-oh y-yiff
>>281914084>motivated by the elf to read it>it's basedEvery time
>>281915243I can only hope the manga changes things. What a waste.
>>281915432I wish that was true. I check out lots of shit, every slop these days tries the trick
bump for op
>>281910488I think it's similar to Shield Hero, it peaked way too early. Shield Hero peaked after the duel with Spear hero and this one peaked after Tia finds him again. Both conflicts are resolved and then it becomes a standard fantasy story. Except this one doesn't go downhill as much as Shield Hero did.
>>281916749The problem with shield hero is the overuse of retarded villains. After the 3 heroes were done, the author introduces more retarded heroes from other worlds as villains. Not to mention the harem and constant thirst of MCs cock by most of the female cast. The entire thing was a train wreck.
Sir Waffles.
>>281916985Shield Hero is a trainwreck, but everything until Filo was solid. Then it rapidly goes to shit. This one pretty much concludes the main conflict after the first arc. And while it's still good, it will most likely never reach the highs of the first arc.
>>281915243>MC resets entire progress>elf travels across worlds>platonicFucking herbivore japs
Love this manga
>>281916749Yeah it seems absurd that the manga is going to have an arc for each world. Even if it did the characters woukd all get dropped at the end except for Ed and Tia so reader involvment would be killed bit by bit. Especially if >>281915243 stays true and the whole thing is just OP shoelacing.
>>281916749Shield hero has always been a turd from the startI'd go far as to say it's better than Slime even with its attempt at worldbuilding that in my opinion failed miserably.
>blueberry crepes>author drew waffles instead of crepes
inb4 the real waffles was the doggo that got oneesan'd along the way
>>281910488I enjoyed the first arc as much as the next guy, but where the hell is this going? Exactly how many worlds are we going to see him fix things in? The answer obviously isn't anywhere close to 100.
>>281919925yeah, most probably get skipped one way or another.
>>281919058What if I pour crepe batter into a waffle iron
>>281920408Hopefully artist can write out his own fanfic of the MC and FMC, fuck the original writer for being against romance
>>281920408Cute elf butt

>>281919925I think the novel skips a lot of worlds.
>>281922863makes sense
>>281914084Darken her skin, so she could be Flare Shiranui.
>>281919925I think the last 30 or so, the protagonist must have known by then how to do the thing he is supposed to do, so there wouldn't be any need to come to save them and do things too differently when he did it before the timeloop. But the first 10 worlds or so, when the protagonist was completely new and didn't know what the fuck he was supposed to do, might have problems that need to be improved upon for the new loop.
>>281910488This one is pretty good for a modern series, but just like that Mob Isekai manga it's heavily carried by the artist. I expect an anime adaptation for this eventually at least, which will probably will be better than the Mob anime which was a low bar.
>>281923359that one is not that round, is she?
There's this isekai story that has over 100 chapters iirc but only about 3 ever got translated. It's about a kendo fanatic. One day a bunch of armed robbers come into his room so he kills all but one, who manages to do him in. When he waked up in the jsekai, he immediately assumes everyone is an enemy by default, kills the saitess and the guards, goes to the king's room and threatens to kill him if he's not lefr alone. Then goes on bis merry way.Might remember some details wrong because it's been a while, but my point is that there are a lot of ways to exploit isekaislop that can fall outside the opm or revemge of healer spectrum. I can put up with trash like what I described to sample the idea and hope anything more original might be well realized by someone doen the line.Meanwhile, your taste is shit, faggot OP.
>>281924183anon, that some edgy fanfic premise that I can feel is likely right in the space of the worst kind of isekai slop, which is narou + "but wait for it, a contrarian gimmick twist" (and muh edge).>last linekek

>>281910488Oh hey, I read this recently! You're right, it's not bad at all, especially since I thought it was gonna be another bargain bin isekai. Though I never found it great either. I stopped after the dog world, but I will say I found the conclusion of the first arc very satisfying.

>>281910488Every time someone recommends to check out totally not a generic isekai slop, it's either a generic isekai slop or turns into a generic isekai slop after a few chapters.
>>281910488Man you are new. It's good but not outstanding. There are many better isekai series.
I like the Waffles arc so far. The previous world was about helping the hero's party, while this one is about building it. It feels different enough to me.
>>281932780i just don't post my own threads often, felt like it was worth the effort this time.
>>281928997i look like this and talk like thisit speaks to me
>>281928997mm. It looks like magic circles have converged into this pattern. This is interesting since while runic appears a lot, specially in Template-A and rarely visible in B, a more simple magic circle of two squares (Type-C) rarely uses straight runic for the glyph as opposed to an alternative including Chinese, meaning Template-A and Type-C must've converged, I wonder if other new isekai that I missed have begun to do this or it's only happened in this specific isekai.
The entire series only covers about 20 worlds or so (can't remember the exact amount). Ed's true identity is the demon king of the end, a cosmic entity that has the ability to end worlds and harm god. The universe he's in is a sandbox universe and he's been split into 100 different fragments by god and trapped in an eternal loop. The previous loop wasn't his first, in fact he didn't have any skills at all in his very first loop aside from the first one given by god. There is nothing at the end of his journey, no home world to return to. What he remembers are actually false memories implanted by god to Ed's main body. The goal is to make Ed commit suicide as only he himself can end his own existence, something even god is unable to do. But as Ed continues his journey and refuses to give in to despair, he slowly recovers some of his abilities from the fragments scattered through each world in the form of exiled skills. Anyway the end goal is to defeat the demon lords, collect demon lord fragments, have a conversation with god (punch him in the face) and save the rest of the universe. During the climax, Ed managed to swap places with god, made him lose his memories and have him go on a journey through the worlds instead with Tia babysitting him along the way. Ed shows up 80 years after their journey began and helped god regain his memories and kinda NTRed Tia from him. Having experienced happiness in his life as a human, god was about return to his duties when Ed separates gods consciousness from his main body and the 3 of them go on a journey through the rest of the worlds together. It's been awhile since I've read the WN. There's alot more details not in this outline like, Ed's death and restart of the next loop, the other demon lords including friendly ones, angels, cool worlds like the futuristic cyberpunk world, worlds that Ed couldn't save etc .
Alexis also shows up in 2 more arcs other than the first one. He reprises his role as a hero in the restarted loop but does not obtain the holy sword since Ed has lost his memories and couldn't locate the holy sword with akashic compass. He shows up again in the final fight together with all the heroes when the diaries of all the heroes transformed into the heroes in their prime to aid Ed in the fight against God's army.
