This was so bad. Just a bizarre kaleidoscope of nonsense posturing to be profound and tragic, not earning any of it. Couldn't even kill Mullin but sure fucking pretended to do so.
Love hexagons that don't go anywhere and die in the episodes they are introduced in. Every episode feels like you skipped two previous ones and now lack context for how current events tie into the narrative. The most "so what?" conflict imaginable to begin with. The antagonist folly is standing too close to a guy, who despite being hanging crucified snaps her neck with one hand, and there is nothing she can do. I've been memed into 20+ episodes of time waster again. First Macross, now this.

zoomers shouldn't be allowed to watch anything before 2010

Seems like this is even younger than a zoomer, whatever the fuck they’re called

Counterpoint, it was great! You have to pay some attention or rewatch it to figure out the events though.

>Mullin alive
eh, Alex already died, enough people died, Disith basically got wiped out. Let us end it on a sweet note.

>Love hexagons
Agree. it was a different time, they needed to fill some episodes but chose to spend em on the wrong things.

>So what conflict
Uhh are you kidding? The caretakers of the world have become an insane death cult and dragging the entire colony to a slow death, Disith literally died out, the rest of the world tries to reclaim control without even knowing it.

>The antagonist standing close to a guy
That didn't matter at all, she lost hte fight before Alex snapped her neck. He just got his revenge. Also she was batshit insane too and killed all her bodyguards that could have stopped this.

I'm only replying to you becasuse i like typing words about last exile and want to talk to other anons in this thread about it.

Get rid of your retarded zoomer fomo mindset and start watching things you like.

I watched the spin-off/sequel of this (the one with 2 girls) and I can't remember anything from it

it had one (1) decent song and maybe 20 seconds of good animation, the entire rest of the show up to where i watched was garbage.

>eh, Alex already died, enough people died,
Who the fuck are you talking about? No one of note died except Alex and Dio's gay friend. Even Dio apparently didn't die.
It's not even a matter of Mullin surviving. It's how they are clearly painting the scene of him being dead. His luck runs out, because he also prayed for Dunya to survive since he's now fighting for something other than himself, and she picks up his combat medals walking out of the engine room, crying. Clearly establishing the tragic end. Oh, but my mistake. Mere grazed, actually.
>Uhh are you kidding?
No, I am not. The narrative presents little to no incentive to actually give a fuck, since 90% of the series is spent on the ships, in the air. You know that there is no water, but you never actually see it. You don't give a fuck about Claus and Lavie's hometown because you don't know anyone from there except for racers, and they are fine. Apparently there is enough water to have casinos and main line infantry as your warfare of choice with people masquerading as typical European nobles. In the middle of the series there is government being overthrown but you know what? Let's spend half of these episodes on Claus and Tatiana making awkward eye contact on Silvana. I am sure this will not have any ramifications on how lackluster worldbuilding is. Oh it did. Because it's a "so what" conflict. I had to keep reminding myself that this isn't Waterworld but in the air.
>That didn't matter at all
It absolutely did. Are you saying that if her neck wasn't snapped, she would just watch Silvana ramming into her and blowing her up? That's the most autistic narrative imaginable. What was the problem to begin with then? What "attrition warfare" are they talking about? Just ram her. One of you won't get grabbed on the way. They all agreed already it's a suicide mission to begin with.
Shit is underwritten, wastes time and characters on bullshit that amounts to nothing.

Nobody should be allowed to dislike Last Exile.
