reading manga in english is same thing as watching english dubbed anime, it's cringe. while i read i hear english words in my head in american accent and that sounds very cringe like dubbed anime.

Reading manga is one step removed from the mind of the creator. It is an inherently lesser experience. Let alone watching an anime adaptation of the manga. The only pure experience is creating your own manga. You don't need to even draw it since you will be experiencing it in your head.

Not knowing Japanese provides a nice cultural divide. Having that language barrier makes the work feel more exotic and mysterious. If you had a fluent understanding a lot of the charm of viewing it as an outsider is lost. That is not to say good translations for subs aren't necessary, you don't want to lose too much of the original meaning in bad localizations.Also a lot of doujins wouldn't be as fappable read straight in the Japanese language, needless to say ching chong bing bong daisuki doesn't sound hot to hear phonetically in your head.
