KnY's final arc was EMBARRASSINGLY bad, but was MHA's really better and not in fact even WORSE? I think MHA largely floated on Hori's consistently strong art while KnY was garbage visually and only Ufotable made it a success story. Take the art quality aspect out of it and just looking at the writing, could MHA's final arc be worse and I think that's arguable.

But in a miracle from AFO's perspective, AM fumbled the succession HARD, and he could now see a path forward. Maybe it even gave Hero society a head start because AFO had put all his remaining resources into the nuke plan which was suddenly abandoned. That's just one way such a ridiculous plot development could have been handled satisfactorily with just a few panels of dialogue, but even THAT much was beyond Hori. The cherry on top is that this entire narrative wall was one that Hori wrote himself into in the first place.
