So much soul, much more mature approaches in old anime are lost in the new shit they put out these days. Why did it have to come to this?

Matured anime didn't survive the crisis of 2008
>>
>>281936253
cus maturity isn't cool anymore like it used to be in the 2000s
>>
>>281936253
Because you didn't buy the DVDs

There's plenty of mature anime. Vinland Saga. Frieren. Takopi's Original Sin. Children won't understand these anime.

Mature didn't pay the bills.

witch hunger robin was boring as fuck even back then.
>>
>>281936454
define boring
>>

It was on pair with TV shows from that era, like Millennium
>>

Not at all. It came out in 2002. Here's what that year looked like:
- Haibane Renmei
- Azumanga
- Princess Tutu
- 12 Kingdoms
- GITS SAC
- Full Metal Panic
- Naruto (!)
- King Gainer
- Heat Guy
- Chobits
- Macross Zero
- Gundam Seed
- Rahxephon
- Abenobashi

Early 2000s were stacked and Robin was not even worth considering back then.

This. The 2000s in general were goddam loaded so it was just a blip on the radar.
I dont hate robin but it just cant compete back then.

They still make anime which aren't shounenshit or light novel adaptations today.
