I think part of it was that even though Leah was certain she's a demon, she could see that Priest was genuinely in love with Imuri and didn't want to inform him because she wanted to believe that he could be happy with Imuri.
The story puts a lot of focus over how much Priest has suffered throughout the story, but I think Leah's the only character who's been put through around the same level of hell Priest has been.

The author has put the utmost care into showing how traumatic sex and sexuality has been to the Priest over his whole life. But throughout the Asmodeus arc we are given a direct change in how the Priest views those around him. I liked that the artist doesn't really need to make Imuri sexy but when the Priest really thinks about it, suddenly he's seeing her in 4K for the beauty she is still a whore though. I particularly like the moment it clicks for him in his talk with Asmodeus. Both for the demon lord and for Imuri.

Chapter 55 is a masterclass to art and composition telling a story. No words are needed for most of it, we see how normal everyday sights for the Priest are no longer the same. He's been doing Imuri's laundry with no real concern but now that huge bra is in his mind. The cup of glass she drank just before bed gave him a great view of the nape of her neck. Her skirt is just a little too short showing off her thighs. And the flash back to Dante's advice on how it's OK to have sex if both parties consent, which also happened during his talks with Asmodeus who equally expressed that people should be comfortable with sexual things even if there are drawbacks as well. Her tits when she's fresh out the shower, or wearing a particularly revealing swimsuit. It's amazing he took this long to realize who he's been living with but that just speaks to how dogmatic he was brought up to be.

And it's still something shameful to him. He tries to pray it away, there's a quiet for just a fraction of a page. And when he commits to the act he takes all his plushies and lines them up outside his bed. The whole chapter is really good at showing the temptation overpowering his previous resolve.

The whole Baba Yaga deal was Vergil's opus from planning to execution. Unless I'm missing something from the extras, it doesn't seem like the rest of the witches have the organizational will, capacity, or capability to pull off her resurrection. It's probably taking so long because Baba Yaga herself is slowly tard-wrangling a bunch of hedonistic degenerates and unambitious randos who became witches to belong to SOMETHING because they had nothing else into being useful.

Vergil probably can't stop what's been put into motion, so I wonder if his new plan is to trip the hex-nuke and try to contain the damage so it doesn't annihilate all of reality. Just most of the stuff he hates.
