AnywayOriginal was gud enough, rough around the edges.G was absolute cinema and introduced a bunch of cuties.GX was abysmal dogshit but at very least gave us Carol.AXZ was like, very meh premise but the execution is cool.XV went full epic which is fitting for the finale. Also made GX worth it because the Carol part is 10/10Overall always good.

S1, G, and GX were all written under the assumption that this would probably be the finale with nothing more to come after. XV also, I guess, but XV is probably right about it.You can see this not just in the Noise -> alchanoise thing (since G attempts to definitively close the book on the Noise, and the writers at least attempted to respect that) but the pacing of character arcs. Tsubasa in particular keeps having to regress so that she will have something to do in later seasons.

Fighting and singing sounds silly but actually ends up being awesome.The girls and their interactions are cute despite the seriousness of the plot, and I definitely appreciate including more scenes like that in zesshoushinai. Just let them be unironic monsters.Or, if you want to have your cake and eat it to, let Else the wolf girl be the innocent one, who thinks that her friends are also monsters with a heart of gold like her, until later on in the story she realizes that just because they are her friends and they were all victims of the alchemists together doesn't actually make the other two good people.
