I have a theory! The demons have somehow revived Himmel the hero, who will save Serie (a factor she didn't or couldn't predict). However, revived Himmel is Dark!Himmel, and he kills Denken, Phrase, the Emperor, Gorilla and Goatee. He is still Himmel, so he tells Frieren to come to the former Demon King's Castle and defeat him once and for all, and if she loses he will turn her into his bride.
