That shit got me hyped up every week. 2 might be the overall better song, but I don't think it's a great anime opening. It's nice, but I need me some high energy in my shounen action. It helped me that Ichirin no Hana came out when shit was getting real so, for me, was very effective in getting me into the mood. That shit hyped me as a kid like nothing else. The starting shot with Ichigo and Rukia against Zangetsu's blade, the whole gang running up the stairs of Rukia's tower, being ambushed by the Captains, the way Hitsugaya walks on water and pulls out his sword to strike, Orihime and Chad doing stuff, Soi Fon attacking Chad before at the last moment cat Yoruich snaps her blade. It's insane.I agree saying all are good is boring. I just can't in good faith say the 1st OP is good just because it's the first. It's stylish, but the actual stuff going on is really boring (so many slideshows). The are part I like Ichigo cutting down the Shinigami (rather OOC in hindsight, but it's cool) and Orihime and Tatsuki spraying part of the credits afterwards or the cool Naruto reference towards the end.

Bleach was the first anime I torrented and kept up with as a teen, so the weird ass slide show at the start is just comfy to me, I don't think I can knock it down without just lying that I don't like it. I do hate nostalgia is that powerful. Why I think I put 1=2 cause 2 has the better animation, but I legit like Asterisks more as a song, the full song is in my drawing playlist. The beginning part doesn't hit (it's not as loud as other OPs) then you have an instrumental part that goes on for too long before you follow it up with rap then back to the chorus? I do admit it's quite fun (that part where Ichigo's loose belt where he argues with Rukia looks like a limping penis is forever ingrained in my mind) but it just can't compare to the sheer passion I get from the 2nd OP. Yeah the "whooaaa" chorus is bland to some, but the variation in tone and how well it syncs with the visuals (sentimental with the gang reflecting, Rukia in the tower) then picking up when the action starts is good. And then beat drop. Before you get to the proper song. It's so fucking good. Anyway, I'm rambling, but I guess this is just a matter of taste.
