I didn't like this era of anime where "lol, extreme merciless abuse of the male MC is le funny, 'cause anti-pervert justice girl squad are assholes" was somewhat common. The little moments where the girls of shows like this and the Student Council's Discretion demonstrate hints of crushes or moments of being slightly nice towards the MC just didn't offset the rest of the hateboner parts, which were the majority. What was the motivation for authors making stuff like that? Masochism?
