But he was being disingenuous about the extent he was altering things.His version of the story reads like some loose bullet points, with some fanfic-tier fluff in between. The issue was that he would often just make up dialogue that misrepresented the characters, or extend fight scenes by making them edgier than they actually were.Everything basically plays out the same as the original in terms of the main plot points. It's just that the fan translations were a misrepresentative retelling of events, through lens of someone with blatant favoritism towards certain characters.In the end, the Western fanbase felt rightfully betrayed, and nobody wanted to wait years for Yen Press to get caught up to where the LNs currently were.Luckily that's all behind us now. As the official translations are finally caught up just in time for the second season.
