As a kid, I didn't like this show, because the cyborgs after the ninth one were consistently portrayed as stronger than the protagonist, and my child brain, who mentally attached itself to the PoV character, wanted the hero to be the strongest.

>the team shows up to fight an enemy
>they're doing okay for a moment but then they start getting their asses kicked
>009 activates gotta go fast mode and defeats the enemy singlehandedly
