When you hear Imaishi talk it feels like he used up most of his ambition making Gurren Lagann. He's kind of resigned to 'can't really make that happen again but man I'm nostalgic for it' it's kind of sad. He's decided to be mediocre or at the very least to never really swing for the fences again.Yo can't run the day in day out of a tv production for more than a couple weeks to save his life, but Trigger doesn't seem willing for whatever reason to give him a movie where he could probably pull that off.Amemiya is a talented dramatic director at a studio that needs him to be talented at directing action too, which he isn't.Dungeon Meshi's quality is all over the place idk, maybe the new kids can pull it together for S2.
