I've been wondering how fans of the original Dragon Ball felt about that at the time: basically anyone born in the late 80s/ early 90s who grew up with Z just takes it as read that Goku is an alien, and it doesn't really seem like anything worth remarking on.Imagine being someone slightly older, who had been following the character since he was a child in the original series.I only ever watched about 20 episodes of DB, so I don't know if there were any hints that Toriyama had it planned out in advance.

Goku took a rabbit who turned people into carrots to the moon and left him there (where he later died when Roshi blew it up lol).
