/a/ - what is this genre of animation called - Anime & Manga

Ruri no Houseki seems like a stock standard cgdct/moe hobby series. I don't know why anyone would be confused about it. I haven't seen Onimai but from what little I know about it it seems like a cgdct/sol series too.

Ruri no Houseki is a CGDCT hobby series with a strong focus on teaching the audience about the hobby/science. Onimai is a more traditional CGDCT SoL, just with the gimmick that the MC is an adult man in a loli's body. Both are great.
