They ignored Noda’s corrections and swapped the corrected drawings for in-betweens. Kanada told me the one who did this was Yagi. Later, I asked Yaginuma himself why he had done that, and he said it was because the girls in Noda’s corrections weren’t cute enough! It’s the same thing that happened between Otsuka and Miyazaki on Future Boy Conan! (laughs) Apparently, there was a cult installed on the floor just above Download’s studio – I think it was Aum or something like that. Yaginuma and Tanaka sneaked into the studio at night and did the in-betweens themselves instead of applying the corrections.
