My god have the demon sisters suffered a huge character reset. They used to be conniving evil geniuses, hatching plots and consistently landing the angels in trouble, only to catch comeuppance like some cartoonishly demonic team rocket. Now they're like a pair of ingenues. Maybe it's just because Corset is gone, but I wish they'd at least prank the angels like they did in their past scheming glory days.

It wanted to throw the whole show into absolute chaos for a segment, and then reset it and continue as usual. The time travel stuff was just there to allow for an epic off the rails adventure. “The” past is “the” past, and “the” past was saved, it just works, and there are no grander implications beyond that.
