Kaschey implanted a secondary personality into her to hatch into another Kaschey - but it can't push her to do anything the main personality would be sincerely opposed to. By virtue of the fact that she DID commit these crimes, it's proof that she was sincerely willing to betray all of her friends and comrades and work with the Ursus army to start a war with Yan, if it promised that the Infected would have a place in Ursus at the end of the war. It probably wouldn't have been her first choice, without Kaschey's arts being involved... But it was an option she would have turned to if something else had sufficiently cornered her.
