When this chapter released Eren wasn't physically standing next to Grisha, but metaphysically as a manifestation of the ideas Grisha had about the future of his children and how they would want them to do it.Iseyama just dropped the ball after that and took his own symbolism literally.

The problem with it is that it should have been Eren's freedom autism influencing Ymir from 2000 years in the future. Instead, it was Ymir's female slave mentality that was influencing Eren from 2000 years in the past.
