Do female authors just write better romance stories than men?
>>
Yes, absolutely. The reason being that the men in the romance can actually be cool, whereas they're beta bitch boys when written by male authors.
>>
Yeah. I enjoy watching series featuring beautiful woman and handsome man

>nearly all these examples contain women slutting it up
Please, anon, I don't need more proof that women are terrible authors.

His romance stories and couples are really good. He's a master of the romantic longform.

I understand what you're getting at, but IMO female written romance can suffer from having unlikable males for other reasons than male written betafaggot MCs. I mean they are sometimes too feminine (metrosexuals, ikemen, bishounen) or too dark edgy rapechad vampire to appeal to many men. For example I had to drop Grill Our Love because the husband was such a huge sissy I didn't enjoy any part with him in it. I expext the same is true in reverse and guess many female characters in male written manga are ulikable to women.

I think this is truest is generic stories where characters often fit into an archetype and generally lack unique character. I'd also say that both male and female authors often fail to adequately explore, or even actually write reasons for, why the characters love each other. I think they miss the point when they fail to do that because it's such a strong way to show depth of feeling and genuineness.

Edgy rapechads are kino
My problem with female writers is their obsession with love triangles and cheap drama.
>>
>>282049868
It's the same shit with genders reversed. For men, it's loser male x popular girl, while for women, it's loser female x popular guy.
>>
>>282050179
Just look at that pic, do they look like loser women to you? Also, menhera, jimiko and shy girls are very attractive too.
>>
>>282050221
There is barely any focus on the girl as opposed to the guy here. Clearly indication for whom the manga is for.
>>
>>282050221
I don't nessacarily agree with that anon but at least two of those (Sweat & Soap, M girl) are portrayed as losers or loser adjacent from a female point of view or writer; depressive, plain looking, self loathing.
>>
>>282050319
That's what I meant. They're treated in universe as losers. It's the same with shounen romcom where the guy is always seen as ugly compared to the gigastacy heorine.
>>
>>282050319
Sure but they are hot and have big tits, and their personalities are attractive for men. Compared that to a boring self insert loser who you can't even tell apart.
>>
>>282050410
Saying "have big tits" means nothing. It's no different than male writers giving the self insert MCs giga cocks
>>
Female romance normally sucks, but they've been getting better very recently and started to produce some good stuff (pic related)
>>
>>282050410
They're both self-inserts.
>>
>>282050428
>>282050441
Self-inserts that are attractive to men. Male self-inserts usually aren't attractive to women. Maybe our standards are just too low.
>>
>>282050432
Unless I'm mistaken that's a female written romance targeted towards male readers, these are very different from female written for female readers (although you can usually spot things you'd be unlikely to find if the mangaka was a male)
>>
>>282050468
It makes more sense narratively that way. In shoujo, you'd see character being described as plain or homely looking, yet they're designed so obviously to be atleast above average that their treatment makes no sense. It seems to me, male self-insert are just more honest about it.
>>
>>282049844
it's usually just used goods ntrslop, these are exceptions
>>
>>282049985
>His romance stories-
Stopped reading right there, the only thing this guy is decent for is T&A and his pinups.
>>
>>282049844
It depends on how clever the woman is. Usually they can't think outside shoujo drama. The best example of it is Ran and the Gray World, it becomes unreadable because of it
>>
>>282050468
It's just gender differences. Men absolutely love plain (but not with ugly features) girls who will dress in any old unfashionable jeans and a t-shirt and don't care about shopping for clothes or makeup and will watch a dumb movie with you and genuinely like it and will think going camping (not glamping) is fun and will basically not be a 'stacy' type flashy, high maintenance girl but just 'nice' and 'wholesome'.
>>
>>282050530
They aren't entirely plain. Characters point out how attractive they are all the time. It's mostly their clothes and lack of interest in trying to look good what makes them look plain in-universe.
>>
>>282050580
The older brother and dad are likable to male readers, and I don't remember hating the kid. The older love interest was kill it with fire tier to male readers but apparently women love faggots like hi. I also didn't really like that manga and am not an Irie fan.
>>
>>282050599
That sort of duckling to swan transformation thing is part of the fantasy. They aren't seen that at the start even when deisgn wise, they clearly are attractive.
>>
>>282049844
No, i can barely give a shit about any manga made by a woman.
>>
>>282050719
Seinen romance written by women romance mangaka, who usually do shoujo/josei, is sometimes really good.
>>
>>282049844
Men don't write romance, they write slapstick comedies where the beta MC tries his best to avoid romance.
>>
>>282050719
You probably like many manga and doujins that you didn't know were made by women.

Yes, they also draw better loli manga/doujin too.
>>
>>282050641
The brother is straight from shojo - a werewolf with unlimited libido who chose a plain girl instead of a cheeky leader
>>
>>282052467
Maybe, but he's no bishounen or an edgelord brooding ikemen, just a chaddy bro that goes after one top tier girl. He may be much cooler and more popular with women that you but as a man you could still hang out with him, go drinking, etc. Too often the character of female written heart-throbs is repulsive to men, as it is with that older faglord, but Jin(?)'s this case it isn't.
>>
>>282053838
>Too often the character of female written heart-throbs is repulsive to men
Sounds like a (You) problem. Only when they make him too faggy.
>>
>>282049844
A good romance has to make you care about both sides of the couple. Women care more about doing this, in shoujo the female protagonists have the same relevance as the male interests and are made to be as appealing as them, a good part is dedicated to her life and personal relationships, etc....
Even in romance shonen written by women it is the same case, Blue Box and Kaoru hana at least try to make you care about the male MC and their friends.
>>
>>282049868
We used to have men writing chad main characters, but now people just want to self insert instead of reading about a guy they can model themselves from.
