>>282053975I don't have much recollection of the old version and I actively avoided watching it at this point precisely because I want to judge the remake of its own merits without comparing it too much to the original.The way you described it, have I watched that before going for this remake, the gags sound like they won't land that hard, especially(from what I heard from manga readers) that a lot of anime-original gags were made in that version, and that's just gonna be disruptive to the increasingly serious tone they're going for for the trials. Not that they didn't get the opportunity to do a quick gag with the garbage chute bit(we Gachiakuta now lel).
