I think that the manga would've been better off if it was adapted in one movie with ~2h runtime. Of course, it's not finished yet, but hypothetically, if it were finished, I could easily recut it into just 2 hours, maybe 2.5 hours if we wanted to keep extra homosexual filler. 2.5h is not too long for anime movies.
No, I think the episode format works. It moves slowly and it filters modern kids with their short attention spans.
