What was his problem?
>>
He wanted to win too much
It probably would have been foreshadowed better if Hirano ever finished The Dawn

>plot hook for a prequel that no one asked for
The ending was SO weak after having to wait for that long
Alucard remaining dead would had been the best option

Always loved how hard he roasts him on this scene

Might have given some purpose to siring Seras as well. She'd be his successor for real.
>>
>>282067887
Alucard wasn't killed by a human, of course he's not going to stay dead. He has to be killed by someone like Van Helsing again.
>>

Yes integra would only live some more years and every old organization would be gone or changed permanently leaving the future for the new generation

>>282067966
He kills vampires/monsters too no? the only difference is that he is a main character
>>
>>282068077
Alucard was very specific that only a human can triumph over the greatest monsters.
>>
>>282068197
its just his personal opinion really
Anderson basically became the same kind of monster but holy and he died anyways, killed not by a person, but another monster
If the plot wanted to push that for real, then Integra should had been the one killing Anderson
>>
>>282067445
He peaked in his teens and was bitter over it.

The nature of humanity is Hellsing's biggest theme, it isn't even completely clear what really makes a human by the end of the series, everything points to maintaining your sense of self being the most important criteria as both Alucard and Anderson relinquish their selves and they are the most clearly defined examples of a monster in the series.
But when confronting the Major at the end Integra disagrees that he is human even though he remained himself throughout his life, although she could just be making a statement on his morality

I always got the impression walter was just suffering from succsess, he fought nazis in dawn as a normal human and grew old and wanted to die in battle. He ultimately wanted the same thing the nazis in the show did and was tired of compaceny.

The Major likes war so much he basically transformed himself into a machine of war (a robot) and became obsessively addicted to starting another war. There's no humanity left in him, physically or mentally. Even if he did use raw willpower to avoid becoming a vampire, he became something else entirely.
>>
>>282069679
That's not how he sees it
>>
>>282067445
Childish frustration that he could never be as powerful as Alucard.
He was basically a seething manchild who never grew out of his inferiority complex.

>"I want to be killed by a human"
>summon an army of 3 million zombies when pushed far enough
Well, maybe he's asking a little too much. How the fuck did Van Hellsing do it in the first place?

That's the thing. Van Hellsing had to be some insane vampire slayer and we'll never see how it was done. It left such an impression on Alucard it gave him a forever rigor mortis boner trying to recreate it.
>>

>How the fuck did Van Hellsing do it in the first place?
Its a writer fuckup, he made Alucard too strong which makes any success to restrain or defeat him by past character seem impossible. Either Van Helsing is practically god himself or he used some sort of tool like a fragment of the true cross to nullify Alucard's full capabilities which would mean it would immediately be brought up every time he was considered a threat or adversary, so obviously it wasn't a specific tool or gimmick. Even worse, when you write yourself a planet buster character you have to do world development and there has to be consideration that there is others in the present or past around the world, if Christianity is the only way to kill vampires what the fuck were Romans, Chinese, Ancient Egyptians and Sumerians doing?

Just assume its rule of cool and fuck it look at the carnage on the screen.

Dracula is canon to Hellsing.
>>
>>282073466
>Dracula is canon to Hellsing.
But not to the level that Alucard is depicted as. If he cuts loose there isn't a single being on the planet capable of stopping him, he can devour the entire planet in an evening.

Dracula didn't have all of those abilities when Helsing fought him. They made him STRONGER by tampering with his body after they defeated him the first time. All of the seals and extra abilities came from Abraham and his buddies fucking with Alucard. He had some number of abilities before, but it's made explicitly clear that he was altered pretty significantly.
>>
>>282072119
that's his weakest, most vulnerable form
