what are your opinions on his manga?
i absolutely love all of the thi ngs he's made and have all of fire punch and his one shots. i am so glad that he is getting so much material animated and hope for fire punch to eventually get an adaptation that is at least at the same level of kizumonogatari. (i'm coping, it's never happening)
it is a shame that 100studio is animating nayuta and mermaid rhapsody, even what was shown in the trailer looks worse than any other new anime i've seen in this last year. but the rest of the one shots look like they're being adapted really well so i'm still holding onto hope

CM has been shit since chapter 1.

Love his stuff, reminds me of the extreme Korean cinema of the mid to late 2000's.

I am pretty sure i read somewhere that he was inspired by that. and since fujimoto has multiple characters that love movies it makes sense that he would like abstract cinema.

I like his previous series and one-shots, but CSM Part 2 isn't great. People working for the government randomly appearing, saying something cryptic and then murdering people without consequence is getting really tiresome.

best mangaka of the last decade

i see what you mean. i still enjoy it but i understand why it can get tiresome reading it weekly. and it definetely isn't the same manga as it was in part 1. i think what happened in chainsaw man is similar to what happened at the end of fire punch. the main character finally has what he wants, but he's lost everything. and through it all he is still suffering the same as he was in the beginning but even worse. even after agni lost his flames he would still try to kill himself for the next 10 YEARS. denji reminds me of that. instead of agni holding onto the memory of his sister to stay alive, denji just clings to fake love and lust as some sort of goal to keep him going. what i like about this though, even if there is no progress is that it feels real. i know how it feels and i relate to it. even if it's not on the same scale as his own disastrous life.

Generally, up until the end of Part 1 of CSM, I've enjoyed his work. But I feel that the new wave of fans are too young and opinionated to actually enjoy his work without getting caught up in sniffing their own farts, trying to intellectualize his rather straight forward writing.

thats true. his works do have some deeper themes and meanings in the characters and stuff. but sometimes its just nice to read chainsaw man because its fun to read and not because i am expecting a deeper meaning. the characters are well written which is why it's relatable and thats what makes it a good story beyond just hype moments and aura. but i also feel like fujimoto just wants to draw cool action and boobies.
