Now that the long-ass tournament arc is finally over, I just want them to start with the next arc now. This one was too dragged out and ultimately underwhelming for how long it was.I also don't really like Gareth and Balin joining. They worked fine as challenges to Percival and Gawain respectively, but on their own they're kind of walking cheat codes and not that interesting to begin with.By now, I'm literally only waiting for Nakaba to bring back Mertyl so I can watch the shippers have a meltdown when he and Nasiens inevitably become a thing.

Honestly I'm impressed Nakaba managed to maintain the jobbing-competence balance that well in the first 100 chapters of NNT, he's always been the type to struggle making the heroes a bit too powerful. (Maybe first 100 chaps is too harsh, the 10Cs were fairly competent for a year or so too.)

It really doesn't feel like there's any direction with this sequel. By this point in 7DS, Diane and King were going through their tribulations with Gloxina and Drole. Arthur doesn't feel like a threat. Percy hardly feels like a MC, especially with the Lancelot wank, and all the other characters are forgettable or pointless. I really wanted to like this sequel, but it feels like a flop.
>>282148905I would say the biggest problem here is the incredibly slow pacing. 7DS was decent at keeping things moving and handling several character plotlines at once. In comparison, this sequel looks like it can only focus on one or two characters at the time while pushing the rest into the background. The tournament especially made that painfully obvious.I honestly only keep reading because I still want to see if Morgan and Avalon become a new plot later on, but nothing at the moment is keeping me interested.
