It does feel like the game has changed for shoujo manga, but it's hard to tease that apart from the game changing for shounen and seinen as well. Female-centric manga are much more common across the board and although their tone is different in the male demographics, it's hard not to wonder what magazine a manga like Sukeban Deka would run in if it was made today.Plus "trashy wish fulfillment" has permeated so much of everything it's hard to see that as a trend unique to shoujo or josei manga.
