>"Victim of circumstance? No, he was born evil."
Why is such a dumb concept so good?
>>
Simple is best

My favorite scene of the entire series
>>
>>282219854
Because you're tired of the Victim concept which in turn also came in response to pure evil.

It doesn't matter clearly after a certain point he just succumbed to evil. There isn't much more to say.

Speedwagon's entire existence is basically to debunk any sympathy to Dio

>also born in poverty
>instead of hating Jojo basically falls for him
>becomes a business mogul after following his family to America
Dio is too mwahaha to be a symbol of anti-high class behavior but SW is THE made-man
>>
>>282219854
Part 6 dio was a mistake
>>
Dio was wired wrong, but he ultimately decided to double down on his negativity than try and improve himself. Perhaps if he had a role model, like how Giorno had his gangster guardian and what semblance of his dad he could gleam, he wouldn't have turned out the way he did, or if his mother was more defiant instead of being so accepting of Dario's abuse, things would have been different. Either way it's a bad mixture.

but he did improve himself (rich, influential, immortal vampire, got John's sexy body, etc.)
he just did it in the most spiteful ways possible
maybe he would've lived longer if he just let go of his pettiness but oh well
>>
>>282221152
Improve himself in superficial ways. It was never enough. He absolutely had to try and bring Jonathan down out of a sense of self-righteousness against the rich, but after getting his ass beaten, tried to act civil. He lived out of spite and greed. That's why he started thinking about Heaven following one hundred years of being alone with his thoughts.
>>
we just had this thread and no one cared faggot
>>
>>282221232
the way you say superficial kinda makes you sound like "best things in life is kissing the ass of the rich!"

I tell it like it is Dio had a pretty good life in part 3 but it was cut short because he was being a bitch (he didn't HAVE to try and kill Jotaro's mom)
>>
>>282219854
Even Dio's father wasnt THAT Evil like his counterpart in Part 7. He tried indeed to run a tavern with the money he got from the Lord Joestar and even in his last breath he wanted to secure his son's future. Dio is a sadic narcisist who believes the world rotates around him. I believe even if he had born into a good family, he would have chosen evil if the opportunity was presented to him
>>
The idea that evil doesn't exist is nonsense. Some people are just assholes and would be no matter their circumstances.

Wasn't this exact identical thread made yesterday? Did I succumb to some kind of time warp? Why are you doing this to me, OP?

>dumb concept
It's something that exists in real life, but few modern authors use it for one reason or another. Usually because they think "gray morality" makes them look smart and sophisticated.
>>
>>282222724
yeah but a lot of people apply who is that completely at random to the point that saying "who smelt it dealt it" starts sounding true
>>
>>282222839
not to mention if there are pure evil fucks the first thing they would probably do is convince people that an entire group of people are those evil people throwing any suspicion away from them, reveling in the slaughter, and even profiting off the victims since they are not alive to protect their shit (see pretty much all genocides)

Good because it's Dio. He's evil, mischievous, strong, formidable, and a troll all at the same time.
He's the Michael Jordan league of born-evil, not some college-basketball level petty villain.
