Should I watch the Brotherhood anime or read the manga? I've been watching the first 8 episodes and I feel like it's not the best way to enjoy this serie. I feel like the animation isn't really worth it and I don't feel like the soundtrack is particularly good either. Should I just read the manga?

I also recommend the 2003 anime, which not only tells a new story and better develops some characters, but also adapts some interesting chapters from the light novels and even some funny extras from the manga.

>2FMA has become less interesting over the years. Ed and Al aren't very interesting, the setting isn't compelling, and the plot is dumb. I still think it's cleverly plotted like all shonen, but it's a bit overrated. It made me want to read the Farmville manga.

>>282221450Read the manga. Brotherhood butchers the first bit of the story 2003 FMA covered before it spun off into its own thing. You're correct in assessing the soundtrack is whatever and I can only think of a couple moments heightened by the animation, otherwise it's average for an anime of its time. Arakawa's art is nice the while way through, you won't regret it.

>>282221450The manga, the art style of the anime is inferior and it skips a bit of the story (the Yoswell mine and a bit of Ishval). There's also the 4komas, they were animated but imo don't really work that way

I'm one of the weird ones who likes both anime and thinks each has its own strengths and weaknesses, both are worth watching in my opinion
