The only thing that really coincides with it to fool people is Akira's backstory. If you think about it even for a second though, the manga never, even once had anything like that happen outside of flashbacks. It always is super wholesome, full of acceptance and love. It's hilarious to think back on this or even the next arc and people's theories.
