This anime made me so hyped about the world and other Nen users unraveling secret relics, catching dangerous criminals, traveling the world, only for Togashi to create scene where 99,9% of hunters are basically shown to be weaklings worthy of only being seen for 1 second on the panel.Absolutely garbage writing.
It's definitely no One Piece. That's for sure.

They introduce a world full of magic and possibility but after just a few arcs you realize how small it is and you probably already met all the important people. Some series handle it differently but they all end up pretty unsatisfying. Part of Hunter x Hunter's problem is Nen is so versatile and powerful that there should logically be groups of Nen users all over the place solving people's problems, but there aren't, there's just random selfish people and every arc we get introduced to maybe one group that's probably evil. In a series like One Piece, that makes more sense because people don't choose their power usually, but One Piece has other problems, like everyone went to school together and the MC is magnetically drawn to every important person and location.
