Honestly, the biggest problem with Naruto's writing is how overly-idealistic Naruto is.
The bigger problem is that there’s three characters in Naruto. Turns out it’s easy for Naruto to convince Obito that he’s just like him because the narrative made him exactly the same as Naruto.
Idealistic and naive. Worst part is it works all the time. Pain and especially Obito becoming good guys after some talk no jutsu was so gay. Spending most of your life as the biggest villain only to get a change of heart after some dumbass kid talks to you for a bit? Lol. Also his whole obsession with Sasuke was ruining the show so much. Like the guy tries to kill him and his crush and Naruto still simps for him like he's the only guy in the world. It's so lame. But really, the biggest problem in Naruto is that Naruto himself isn't the main character. Not in Shippuden at least. By the end of it, with all the NaruSasu gayness and reincarnations of some two ancient faggots and that last fight, it's clear he shares that spot with Sasuke. That's what really ruins it for me.

He has no agency whatsoever, even his original goal of killing Itachi might not've been organic: Itachi tells him to do this, twice. He just believes whatever story he's being told by whoever catches his ear and goes on a warpath just because. And when he finally makes a decision all on his own after 690 chapters, not influenced by Itachi, Orochimaru, Obito or even Hashirama/the Sage of Six Paths, he arrives at the most retarded conclusion ever, that he needs a revolution and should start by killing the 5 kage who incidentally all worked towards a common goal for the first time in history.

Naruto is one of those series that would benefit immensely from a remake so they could begin repairing and fixing the story while also updating it address the problems.However Naruto has become so hated and disliked over the last 10 years, the mindset now is Naruto should never have been made and notion of trying to improve is actively attacked because its far more popular and preferred to shit and hate on the series than it ever was to enjoy it.
