So I was just rewatching FMAB and I got reminded how anons said that the merger would never happen as it'd be game over for everyone yet FMAB was able to pull it off. Father basically succeeded in using the gigantic alchemy circle to absorb the souls of everyone in the country in order to absorb God but Hohenheim was able to prepare a countermeasure and made his own alchemy circle to return everyone's souls to their bodies, Father still had a lot of power thanks to holding onto God but he couldn't hold it in for long and couldn't create mini suns anymore.JJK could have still had the merger happen, just have them prepare a way to return people's souls back. Maybe have Tengen and/or Yuki figure out a way to reverse Kenjaku's system and left the method to Choso, which would also let him have more meaningful impact to the story as well as having Yuki still have some contribution. As for the Merger, could have it still somewhat exist for the characters to fight by saying that the absorbed ancient sorcerers wouldn't have returned as their original bodies were long gone or that curses were also absorbed.

I feel like a big reason megumi gained so much hate is that he seemed to be totally flip flopping the entire manga. He was the sasuke to yuji, who was always pushing him to go further and never being afraid to kill. He had two separate moments in the culling games about pushing through his despair and focusing on the task at hand. Then suddenly he gets possessed by Sukuna and instantly becomes depressed, basically reneging on everything he just said? It’s made even worse by how he actively sabotages the people around him him by resisting attempts to free him from Sukuna, to the point he comes off as hypocritical and ridiculous.
