>>282334572this is a shonenboard
>>282334465>Single page>Still not even B6What even is the point, lol?
>>282334465I still prefer physical media, but the issue with storage space is real.
>>282334465I tried reading a manga on 7 inch display and it was very uncomfortable. You'll need at least 9 inch e-book reader to not feel a size difference and that's expensive. For me holding the physical manga makes reading it way more pleasant.
>>282335215you can double page
>>282335711I see that you're not very good at this reading comprehension thing
>>282335595I'm old as fuck and I never understood enjoying physical books beyond collecting. You have to deal with the crease and they're never perfectly flat, have to turn the pages, even holding them is more annoying. But that Kindle is way too small and looks like shit.
>>282336168>turning pages is somehow more annoying than making an annoying as fuck touch-gesture on a tabletThe best part about books is that you don't have to charge them and there's no DRM or OS updates.
>>282335595>You'll need at least 9 inch e-book reader to not feel a size difference and that's expensive. They've gotten cheaper in recent years and the resolution and other aspects have improved.A Boox Go 10.3 or Kindle Scribe is under $400. Even color models like the Boox Note Air 4C are only $500.The large 13" models used to cost close to a thousand dollars and now a Boox Note Max is $600 and the Tab X C $800, cheaper than comparably sized LCD or OLED tablets.Meanwhile the smaller models have gotten more expensive to the point that 7.8"/8" models are disappearing because there's not enough breathing space between 7" and 10".
>>282336168Just not staring at the electronic screen is enough of the reason.
I'm a physical book enjoyer but I do read manga on my iPad Pro. The OLED screen looks really nice and at 11" it's both portable and large enough to not strain your eyes.
>>282337019Looking at e-ink is barely different from looking at print on paper.
>>282334465>takes no room>don't have to pay for shipping>accessible almost immediatelyDigigods...>>282337019Ever seen an e-ink display? It looks surprisingly close to real paper.
>>282336256Come home, free as in freedom man
>>282336256You just tap on the side. There's no gestures involved. You can also get devices with buttons to turn pages.Battery life on e-ink is measured in weeks and you don't have to update the OS if you don't want to. DRM is only a thing if you buy books and don't remove it.
>>282338220don't buy this shit. pine makes dev boards and they shouldn't be used for anything other than dev.
Well, digitalfags?
>>282334549all that paper garbage is the explicit reason I buy books and manga anon, what are you on about?
>>282334549I sell the ones i dont reread
>>282336168Anon those reasons you hate them is the very reason I like them, I don't mind them not being flat and having to turn the pages is nice
>>282336168Dude doesn't even have a functioning thumb to hold the book lmao
>>282339009Please Japan, end this serie! Bring Kami back!
>>282334465I haven't bought a manga in at least 10 years. Probably closer to 15.Mainly because digital reading is convenient and English chapters were always 30-40 chapters ahead of my language where physical releases were. That and the prices were getting ridiculous.Went from like 5€ as a kid to 7€ and last I checked it was 10€, it's probably higher now.
>>282340765I used to give them to thrift stores but now I live too far away from any thrift store that will accept manga in the original nip.Now I just don't buy anything.
>>282334465As long as it isn't on some tiny inch screen like picrel I'm pretty flexible
>>282334465you still reading manga though?
>>282342806I read much more manga than I watch anime
>>282342795I wish they started selling phones that size again for general use.
>>282337426It's not trueE-readers still emit UV
I read manga on this
>>282339009Yes.
>>282342795You are unable to buy a phone that small. They don't exist.
>>282334465Get a bigger one that you can read as double page like the authors intended, then it replaces physical.
>>282334465I read things digitally and buy physicals of series I especially like
>>282334465A Kindle is literally the worst thing you could pick to read digitally>inb4 brown hands starts shilling his crappy color e-ink chinkshit
>>282345277well, they're cheap. if you jailbreak it, things get better. koreader is good.
>>282345277good e-ink readers?>>282334465isnt this thread >>>/g/?
>>282345527None. You're supposed to use them to read literature on them, i.e., books without pictures. Mangas have covers and color pages. That's all gone on B&W e-ink screens. The color ones look awful and are too expensive. Everyone shilling for them is just coping. I've even seen people saying the line art looks more genuine, but that's just a gimmick. The scans are not that high res, everything's digital and the DPIs are not 100% accurate. I've used a Kindle to read at least 20 or so manga. It was awful. Just get a tablet with sufficient RAM. A cheap tablet with a decent screen size beat every e-ink display for manga. They're far more responsive as well.
>>282334465>how do I rationalize spending money on this gay e reader?>I’ll make a thread and pretend it’s really great
>>282334465>Whoops
I read on an android tablet with koreader. koreader has smart panel zoom when you need it and the tablet is color for color pages.
I have a Windows Surface tablet. Wrestling with tablets that have phone operating systems (more so than modern Windows) isn't something I want to deal with.
>>282334686Should be in spanish
>>282344141Ebay.
>>282343698Just bought a oneplus open myself, its really nice to read on. I tried double pages today and its perfect. Nice middleground between a tablet and one phone screen.
good
>>282345527Boox Note Air 4C
>>282343453If you turn the front light off they don't emit anything. There's little reason they would emit UV since that's outside of the visible spectrum.
>>282345928Try using something that's not the cheapest shit available.
