Between his other series being canned and Oda telling him that an arc will alway end up twice as long or longer.I think he ended up crunching a lot of plot into the first 100 chapters.And it worked.The pacing was good and the crunching down of the female cast meant we seemed to get small but dedicated moments with them.That kept it popular but then once he hit his limit and it was going to run forever, he ran out of juice and it reverted to WSJ plot dragging.

>>282355764Being a teacher is not the problem per se.What made it cheap is how he never had an arc involving that profession or desire to shift from being an hero to teaching.We are just supposed to accept it because “he is le good with children, he is le good at noticing details and quirks”, and so hori glued these things togheter into a very half asses justification.We don’t even get to see him teaching class , not even a cool moment involving him studying and countering the quirks of his new students.And lets not bring up the stupid suit and how passive he was on the whole thing…
