LoGH just doesn't care about the tech, they have shields or something, whatever, the fleets are there to show off the characters, this character is fast so his ships are fast, this one is smart so he can set up bomb traps etc. And LoGH puts a lot more love into the feeling of what it's like on the ships, the FPA being ascetic and cold compared to the curvy Imperial ships with marble pillars, while Stars puts more effort into what it feels like to be in space. Just different focuses.
