Kimetsu having too many flashbacks isn't the problem, the problem is that they all look the same ("once upon a time me and here's the collection of losses and abuses I've suffered"). This makes it clear that the author uses them as nothing but a substitute for proper characterization. Instead of letting us like the hero/villain naturally, she forces us to like them through pity.
having tons of flashbacks is the curse of long running shounensin naruto and bleach it got almost comical, half of the episodes were usually flashbacks
>>282375299literally only 3 demons have a past with any tragedy. and they're all conveniently shown going to hell when they die. literally stating that they're not good people you should feel pity for. it's to show the manipulation from muzan and the choices they made in their life that led them to where they are. it's okay to admit you're too retarded to understand a fucking shonen. then again, you probably never even read it. you just saw it being talked about so you reposted a dumbass twitter post.
>>282375299Back to making KnY posts 20 hours a day huhGood luck with your organic brain damage career
>>282375507In Naruto and Bleach, the flashbacks, besides being more distinct from each other (Shinji's past is based on betrayal, Hitsugaya's past on friendship, Ichigo's on the loss of his mother, etc.), are used more sparsely. In Kimetsu, which is actually much shorter than both, this happens almost every two chapters and they all show abuses and deaths.
>>282375561>literally stating that they're not good people you should feel pity forThey might say that, but the presentation (which is the point of the thread that you clearly didn't even bother to read carefully) goes the other way. In the anime this becomes even more evident with the sappy soundtrack. Everything there screams "look how sad and shocking this guy's past was!". >>282375695Why are you so defensive?
>>282376068If you think that having tragedy in your past absolves you from being evil, you are genuinely retarded. I hope you're baiting.
>>282376068>Everything there screams "look how sad and shocking this guy's past was!"Literally every single instance is juxtaposed with someone else with an equally tragic past choosing to pursue a righteous path instead. Way to miss the fucking point.
