Wasn't this a flop? I remember there being a chapter near the end where he dumped bunch of plot twists all in one chapter via exposition. Felt like he gave up. How'd it get an anime?

The familiar Romero zombie world with a competent, but very optimistic cast was unique. It was all about the fun of survival. It was cool to see Katsuwo do action too. Any chance they’d fix the ending, or is the weird twist going to be a permanent fixture?
Weird choice but I'm down with it, the manga was fun even if kinda scattered and axed into a rushed ending. I wonder if they had a director that just liked the concept or something.
