Also, anyone who actually looked further into JLU and cared about it I think wouldn't jump to call it "Bruce Timm's JLU". His drawing style hit one of the best western style balances for being efficient and highly recognizable but the core of what formed its best and most remembered story ideas like all of Lex Luthor's episodes was from Dwayne McDuffie, who was head writer for a few of the other best animated projects DC managed to make iirc. The first JL season from before he took over as head writer for Unlimited had many episodes that put people to sleep faster than 30mg of melatonin. It might be very unlikely for a charismatic villain like that past version of Lex to show up in western animation ever again with how bleak the future looks. At least japs and chinks are still trying at all, even if it has to come with flaws or several caveatsSorry for sperging, I guess I had more thoughts than I assumed about how relatively short lived the energy and ambition lasted for western animation. In a way it firmly deserved its own death the more you learn about how bloated and archaic the industry was long before streaming services even launched.
