I've nearly finished reading the first LN. I kind of like it. Grounded fantasy, pretty decent especially compared to a lot of the slop fantasy manga and anime that I've been exposed to lately. I generally don't like 'Adventurers Guild' tropes, but I can see how it would've come about in-world naturally. And there are no stats, so there aren't bullshit situations where some little rabbit is invulnerable because it's magic defense is so high/the characters too weak.
This chapter was oddly uh... felt like a series of poems kinda?

>>282428438Probably not under a spell. I think GS was correct in assessing the driver as a mage, and she's getting exhausted because of upkeeping some magic. I believe the going theory at the moment is that she's a necromancer, and horses and the Minotaur girl are undead maintained by her. Based on the available evidence, it's pretty easy to construct a scenario where Minotaur girl is dead, has been dead for some time, and carriage driver is a necromancer attempting to lay her to rest. It could be something else entirely, but either way major red flags were raised that Minotaur girl isn't just another random passenger on this trip after last chapter when she took an arrow in the back, didn't bleed, was going to just ignore it until the carriage driver intervened, treating the wound took them quite some time alone, and despite spending the day walking, fighting, and getting shot, she declined to eat anything. Goblin Slayer's comment at the end probably isn't because he's under a spell or anything, but because subconsciously he knows that something peculiar is going on, but he's failing to put the parts together and be appropriately suspicious.

Perhaps it's related to what happened with the village which deteriorated too fast compared to normal.Could be natural like gases from the soil (higher concentration of carbon dioxide and monoxide affecting GS in his helmet) and previously acidic gases that helped destroy the village - unprobable since there is freely moving air, but in a volcanic caldera... yeah, you may die there.Could be spells (or monsters with similar abilities) like mass rot for the village (remember Lizard Priest destroying a heap of weapons?) and Sleep/Befuddle/Stupor for GS (and a little the minotaur before). Could be a supernatural event like faster passing time in that zone, so wood decays faster and persons tire faster. Could be that the village was destroyed long ago by storm/flood/monsters/demon army and the party is simply tired (except rhea bard).
