Many people seem to use that as their sole source of anime (or possibly some illegal streaming site that uses them as a source) and therefore skip anything not there. This is clearly a stronger show than Bad Girl, with characters being a lot more complex and with production value being the highest for a yuri show since at least YagaKimi. But the cast just doesn't do it for me. Renako, Mai and Satsuki were occasionally interesting, but just not enough. And Ajisai has to be one of the most boring characters of this decade. Still a very fun show though.

Clevatess was a big surprise. That oldschool style for the animation is pure kino.
The seasonal isekais were shittier than average.
Watanare being decent was nice, even if the pacing is absurdly fast.

Probably one of the best-directed series this season. It feels like an animated live-action film. I love the setting, the folklore angle, and the atmosphere.

Once I moved past the initial disappointment of it not being anywhere near as funny as Nichijou, I came to appreciate it. I like the gimmick of the show being essentially a window into all these different stories and characters that cross one another without even knowing in a single setting (the titular city). The art style is beautiful, and on a technical level, it’s some of the best work the studio has done.

It says a lot about the quality of its source material and the talent of the VA team that, despite its poor production values, the show still manages to be entertaining. Of course, given its episodic nature, some episodes are better than others.

I like the non-linear way the story is structured, as well as the characters and how their dynamics play out. The setting is also quite unique, as it takes place almost entirely on board a space train, likely an homage to 999. I've just been floored every week. It really is just as good as 15-year old series I've come to regard as a classic. The music is as good, the animation, and the sexual audacity. While reference-heavy, the show treats its parody subjects, mostly American, with a reverence that's completely singular in an era where actual American storytellers seem to hate the culture they're attached to. I haven't seen the new Fantastic Four movie, for example, but I guarantee the PSG episode is a more honest tribute. It's one of the most passionate celebrations of animation I've seen in a long time, anime or otherwise. I feel lucky to be alive to watch it.

Feels like the true comeback from KyoAni after their unprecedented tragedy. While part of me questions how truncated the manga is, I can't find fault with the direction of the episodes as a separate, hopeful work. Episode 5, with its Sega CD Night Trap video screens and stop-motion mansion is the best episode of the season.
