Haru, Yuki (and Seki) talk to Yuu in the family restaurant about the triangle. It was a pretty interesting read. Grok was better than google translate, so I got the jist of it. I'd use ChatGPT but I'm starving, so maybe the thread won't die by the time I'm done.

Episode 43: A Sermon on the Pride of Women and Children

It's the beginning of October, and today is a weekday, Friday!
Classes have ended, and club activities should have already started in the evening.

"So, what is it all about, you guys~?"
"...Isn't that what I should be asking?"
"Wait, like I say, Seki, why did you come with us?"
"Hey, everyone, let's calm down for a moment~"

...But I, Ichigaya Haru, the (self-proclaimed) ace of the track and field club, skipped club activities and found myself at a family restaurant away from school, where I was involved in a huge romantic drama.

There were four men and women at the scene, but only one of them was the person involved...

"Well, there's no way I can overlook Yuu-senpai's new cheating partner~"
"Wait, it wasn't cheating... well okay, maybe it was."
"By the way, it's Seki-chan, right? So, what are you to this Ta-kun~?"
"Heh-hmm, you want to hear, really? To be honest, I, Seki Nadeko, am Yuu-senpai here's...~"
"Hey, Seki... as I said the other day, I have someone else I like..."
"...senpai's, loser reject who couldn't even become an ex-girlfriend..."
"I'm sorry... really, I'm sorry"
"Fuee, ueeee..."
"..."
"..."

...Or so I thought, but the second girl who got involved had just committed a spectacular suicide.

Well, how to put this, sorry for your loss.
It's not really our fault though.

…………

…………

It was a Friday in early October, and dusk was drawing near at a family restaurant...
there was a table for two across the aisle from the four-person table where we were sitting.

"Well, well, you see? To tell you the truth, I didn't care about you at all, Yuu-senpai..."
"Yeah, yeah, it was painful, wasn't it, Naderin?"
"But, but, how can I put it? To be rejected so blatantly felt so frustrating, or like, lonely!"
"I'll listen to aaall that, so go ahead and vent it all to Yuki-onee-san."
"Yuki-senpai..."
>>
>>282452190
I had just left my seat , but the two of them (Yuki and Seki-san) were sitting shoulder to shoulder, having a debriefing session about the heartbreak that had just occurred.

Before the intended scene could begin, another one ended.
What is this...?

"...Umm, sorry for asking you to mediate."
"Well, well... I'll tell Yuki later."

...And so, for some reason, I'm now left behind at this table, talking alone with the boy in front of me, Takamura Yuu, and it's a little awkward.

But, well, just because it's awkward doesn't mean anything will happen if I run away from my goal.
I'll settle this once and for all before any unnecessary interruptions get in the way.

"So... what we're talking about is..."
"Have you come here to be angry at me?"
"In the end, that might be what happens. But right now, it's just questioning."
"I see... So Hikari hasn't told you guys."
"Do you think she's a loose-lipped woman who talks freely about boys to others?"

No, I think so though?
Usually it's completely open!

But if she suddenly went completely quiet, it would mean that it was a major emergency for Hikari. There was no way we, being nosy (don't say that about yourself), would just leave something like that.

"You're really cool after all, Hikari..."
"What are you laughing at?"
"Sorry..."

And yet, right in front of me, Takamura Yu, Hikari's childhood friend...
Even though Hikari is in an emergency, how can I put it...

"So, what do you think? Will you talk? Or not?"
"I might hide things I don't want to talk about, but I won't lie."
"...You're more honest than I thought. I thought you'd just make excuses."
"But before that, there's something I want to confirm with you guys."

There seems to be a lack of sense of crisis.
He seems to be strangely calm somehow...
>>
>>282452228
"What do you want to confirm?"
"Are you guys friends with Yami-senpai...Ayami-senpai too?"
"... So you brought her name up yourself."
"If you're worried about her too, then I'll tell you...If you're only friends with Hikari, then I can't tell you."

Anyway, he didn't seem like what we were hoping or expecting: a high school boy who is flustered and panicked after being suddenly dumped by his girlfriend who was doing well with him.

…………

…………

"Um, well... so, when you broke up with Aya, Hikari and Aya hadn't met yet...?"
"Right~, so if you broke up last summer vacation... you see, we only became friends with Aya-chan in the second semester. "
"Wow, Yuu-senpai, you're such a two-timing bastard... I actually quite like bad guys too, you know?"
"But seriously, why are you still here, Seki..."

The facts I found out from Takamura Yuu...
were absolutely packed with shocking facts.

This guy, who is the same age as us, has liked Hikari ever since they were children.
However, he has always "believed" that he had no shot with her.

One day, he meets Aya by chance and they become lovers to lick each other's wounds.
However, Aya "changes her mind" and the relationship ends in a breakup within six months.

And without realizing that these three things were intertwined, he caused a traffic accident at the school festival...
At least, that's how it was for him and Hikari.

"Hey Harucchi, no matter how you look at it, Aya-chan is definitely in the wrong..."
"That's not necessarily the case!"

The facts I had gathered from him were written out in chronological order on a piece of kitchen paper, on which water droplets from the cup dripped and the ink from the ballpoint pen smudged.

That chaos resembles our jumbled emotions.

"Well, you see, it's possible that Aya didn't even know until the day of the school festival!"
"But, thinking back on it now, Aya-chin had been acting strange since around June."
"Don't say that! You shouldn't say that!"
>>
>>282452255
Yes...
Thinking back on it now, Aya had been just a little bit strange lately.

She suddenly became interested in Hikari's love life, something she hadn't shown much interest in up until then.
She had never let us into her territory before, but now she's the one to suggest having a home party.

"No matter what the circumstances, Yami-senpai has done nothing wrong!"
"If you insist, things will become troublesome, so just stay quiet!"
"Yes..."

So you're trying to prioritize friendship over love?
Are you desperately trying to do that...?

"Well, Ta-kun, it's your own fault for not getting accepted into our school, isn't it~?"
"That really hits home for me, and there's nothing I can do about it!"
"But thanks to that, senpai and I were able to meet... isn't this fate after all?"
"Ah~, You've just lost all hope, so keep quiet, okay?

I don't know... it makes me feel sick to my stomach.
Everyone is at fault, and no one is.
Even if someone asks me, "What should I have done in the end?" I have no answer, it's like I'm struggling in the darkness.

...This may be the "helplessness" that Aya has felt all this time.

"…………"

It was a Friday in early October, and we were already on the train after dark.
The enthusiasm we had when we arrived was gone, and Yuki and I were just standing there, stunned, staring up into the air.

"He was really worried about Aya-chin..."
"...I guess so."

Takamura Yuu, who saw us off to the station... as we were leaving, he bowed deeply and said:

"Please continue to be friends with Yami-senpai."

"I guess he's just as worried about Aya-chan as Hikarin is~"
"Well, she is a hopeless headcase~"

Yes, she was a dangerous girl who seemed to have a dark side to her...
If it weren't for Hikari, she was someone I would never have had anything to do with.

But in the end, after a year together, affection begins to grow.

Even if it was only six months, he must have had deeper and stronger feelings for her than we did, as he was more closely involved with her than we were.

But, that is...

"Also, he didn't seem too worried about Hikarin..."
"...He trusts her. They've been friends for a long time."
"But if he trusts you that much, doesn't that make him a really bad romantic partner?"
"Don't say that to Hikari herself!"

It was a Friday in early October, and I was on a train about to reach my destination.

We both sighed deeply, thinking about the future that lay ahead, which we had no idea would be bright or dark.

Definitely another early-release fuckup.

They did post this pic of Haru and Yuki an hour ago, though.

Here lies Seki, she never scored.

>Yuu too ashamed to make a move
>Aya too ashamed to make a move
Unless Haru and Yuki are visiting Aya next to get the last piece of the story, Hikari's the most likely to recover first, especially since those two have the most contact with her, and she's the original MC.

You gotta respect Seki for not knowing the meaning of surrender when it comes to winning the Yuubowl.

This is why I'm team Yami, even if she's the human personification of having a woman moment, she still took the bundle of passive waste that Yuu was and forged him into someone able to keep his cool in tough situations. Hikari could never.
>>
>>282456997
She's gotten a look behind the curtain and seen that her one of her romantic rivals was a landmine girl that blew up the other one and realized that now that Yuu's been turned off the menhera senpai pussy and been rejected by the same aged osananajimi pussy, it's prime time for the kawaiiko kouhai pussy.

Oops, they did it again.
>>282452281
It played out less dramatic than I thought. I was sure they'd condemn Yami, but strangely Yuu's mediation seems to have helped.
Also Seki is still just a comic relief, and I don't feel anything but a slight annoyance about her.
Thanks for dumping it.

Why is it a napkin and droplets again? First it was with Yuu's message to Hikari in chapter 20, now here. Is this supposed to symbolize something?
>>
>>282452393
IT'S LIKE POETRY
IT RHYMES
>>
>>282458428
Thinks it's just to help with the atmosphere, giving you some imagery to conjure up in your head to set the scene.
>>
>>282458530
I get it, but why is it the same thing again? Like there is a million things to set the scene, why exactly a napkin smudged with water again?
>>
>>282458428
Funny that people theorized over the "tears" when they really were just droplets. Foreshadowing sure, symbolism probably, but not an actual image of Yuu's sadness.
>>
>>282452190
>>282452228
I'm finally ready to say this: Haru >>> Yuki. Yuki is just shit. She is like a zoomer who gets interested in the most recent thing and completely forgets about her previous interest. They came there to fix the love triangle problem, but she immediately forgot about it because Seki was a more interesting subject.
>>
>>282459142
Sounds like they needed to calm Seki down before they could get anywhere, and Yuki was game.
>>
>>282459201
Or they could just ignore her because she didn't shut up anyway.
>>
>>282459374
I'm surprised Yuu actually let her stay for the recap. High chance she blabs about it and his embarrassing love life becomes the talk of his school. That would also close off the "Yami transfers to his school and starts over with a clean slate" ending option.
>>
>>282459484
I'm surprised he talked at all. But yes, letting Seki listen to it makes even less sense, though Maruto seemingly already decided to leave her as just a comic relief, so I doubt she'd influence the plot in any significant way.
>>
>>282458313
yuki is my wife
>>
>>282459534
Yeah, "she's comic relief, don't think too hard about it" is the only defense here. I have to admit it made the chapter livelier, harder to predict, and probably less boring than just Yuu filling in Haru and Yuki.
>>
>>282459561
Shut up Haru
>>
>>282452303
>Yuu shows more concern for Aya than Hikari
On one hand, this seems good for Yamicoin. OTOH, he still isn't making a move, and I don't see him going full Kazusa True at this rate, which is kinda what it would take to get through to her. Maybe if the final volume is his POV.
>>
>>282459820
Even if it were to go full Kazusa True, it's too early for that. Yami isn't cornered yet, and it's mostly just self-imposed. Things are too mild for that kind of thing now. Though if Haru and Yuki were actually agressive with Yuu, the chances of that would've gone up.
Right now it feels like a sympathy for a loser rather than him prioritizing Yami over Hikari.
