I just started watching Medalist, and holy shit I am always so glad that I grew up in a white western country where seeing adults gossip about a KID in a non-farcical manner would be preposterous. I don't think the Japanese know just how pathetic the adults in these scenes appear to us, like the "chads" in school anime who never let the wimps win video games or some stupid shit like that. For all the West's problems, empathy seems worth it
